#1
1 download tvants here: http://88.191.73.231/~cali/tvants/TvantsSetup.exe
2 install, launch it and write the keyword "japan" in the search bar
3 choose the channel you wanna see
4 ENJOY

can be seen several channels like fuji tv, tokyo tv, asahi tv, tbs ...
The quality is good, unlike keyhole.

To record your favourite programme, download coolrecord here: http://coolrec.coolstreaming.us/it.php.
launch it and select TVants. In the URL bar, change the last number according to your TVants channel list.

For example, i want to record TBS, which is the 4 channel in my Tvants channel list.
I have to write 4 as last number in the coolrecord URL bar.

If you want, you can let the computer record automatically, setting up the timer in the coolrecord timer tab.
Here you can see the schedule for japanese tv: http://tv.yahoo.co.jp/
Let's share your favourite programmes!

http://www.justin.tv is awesome too.

Tried the program & it works quite well. Looks like it's good for watching Chinese TV too.

takes so long to connect to the channels for me. Works though and the sound quality is way better than keyhole which is a big plus. Still... wish it connected as quick as keyhole. Wish keyhole had better audio quality!

Great Post! The quality is pretty good, but it seems my connection just isn't up to it...

Just me or is there nothing there? I searched for fuji and tbs, neither gave any results.

@Tobberoth:

For which one? I can find Japanese programming on both... by searching for "Japan"

Though justin.tv seems to have a lot less programming on it than the last time I watched it =\

I had streaming speed issues with the 700+kbps channels I tried on TvAnts, but the ~300kbps ones work fine

I waited about 10 minutes and it still said:
"Please wait while buffering"

Maybe this has something to do with living in the UK? Has anyone else in the UK got this working?

how long have you guys given it?

I used to watch many starcraft games on chinese redirected tv through tv-ants. It usually takes a while to connect.

Note that tv-ants is sort of like bit-torrent. You're uploading many segments of the stream to other users so it eats up your upload rate as well.

Do you happen to know if you can limit the upload rate? That's probably what slows down my internet so much (Bittorrent is the same... just two kbps less than max speed and everything's fine)

Maybe you have to shut down your firewall or to open your router doors

Ok, I figure this must be a port issue, so I went into to settings to change the port. But what does it mean by Listen port Base and Listen port Limit? What does it want? A port range?

*edit* Could someone post what settings they have? I can't seem to figure this out, I have my ports open. I don't normally have trouble with ports but...

Bwuh? I have no idea how you are managing to connect in the UK... Apparently they are blocking UK users for some reason.

I used this guide to use a proxy server:
http://www.myp2pforum.eu/tvants/8839-uk-...guide.html

Took me a while to get a proxy that worked, but the ones on here work:

Theres a lot of channels but it takes way to long to buffer anything, and after it does it plays for 3 or 5 seconds and starts buffering again.

Works perfectly for me. It buffers for a bit to begin with, but once it starts going to plays very smooth.

the constant buffering b.c. you're internet is too slow.
like my internet at college rite now is sometimes slow as hell like it takes 30 seconds to a minute to load a page with mostly text. right now the speed is decent.

but anyways when i get home where the fast internet's at, I can enjoy watchin'.
