I was in the Japan Center Mall today in San Francisco.  That little video/DVD rental store on the first floor underneath Kinokuniya is selling lots of Anime Video's and DVD's of recorded television programs very cheaply.  They had literally thousands of DVD's for one to three dollars.  The video's are 50 cents.

Also, it you have an esoteric interest and want to subscribe to a Japanese magazine not carried by Kinokuniya, you can subscribe through them and pick up your magazine up at the store.  There is no shipping charge for this.
