Just quick thank you to Fabrice for implimenting the change in adding (and now removing) cards from the site.  All the more impressive for knowing it probably wasn't high on your list of things to do after getting back from your trip to Japan.

Though the old way of doing things was forcing me to brush up on my terrible math skills, the new method of managing cards by adding or removing by frame number is much less cumbersome.  Thanks Fabrice!

Well I should have implemented this long ago already *blush*... but thanks!

I figured that if you add cards after an initial study, you will easily find the last frame number, even if you think in terms of "adding 10 cards a day" for example. Also adding cards in this way is less prone to mistakes.

Looks like this update might save you time in the long run!

I know this is a bit pedantic but I'll mention it anyway. If you've added all cards from RTK1 and RTK3 but click on the 'Add flashcards' link, it gives a message "All flashcards for "Remembering the Kanji" Volume I have been added."

For completeness, perhaps it should read "All flashcards for "Remembering the Kanji" Volume I and III have been added."

Also, when that Japanese guy who you got to take the picture asked if we wanted a second one, I wish I had said yes!

I'd like to disagree. I used to study 20 keywords a day, then come back the next morning, go to the review page, add the 20 flashcards, start reviewing. If I'd need to remember the frame number of the last one reviewed, I might as well do the math, which brings us back to the original reason for providing two fields. I know you prefer to minimize the number of buttons, input fields, etc. on a page, so I guess I'll just adapt the "Add upto Framenumber" script to offer this ability. Might need to change the title.

A different approach would be to add a button on the study page to mark the last keyword studied. Would even eliminate the need to enter or remember any numbers at all. Good idea?

You can also add the flashcards just after you've finished studying them, and review them the next morning...

The book is all frame numbers. Every time I had to delete someone's cards in the database (on their request) it was because they entered a frame number instead of a number of cards (with the exception of a few members who wanted to "reset" their account to start over).

Now it will say "all flashcards for rtk1 and rtk3 have been added" when no more cards can be added, in which case the Add flashcards option does not appear anymore.

You're not worried about the V sign are you? You should see my photos.. I did it like half the time ^_^

Of course for some people 'morning' is 2pm... sad

Adapted and retitled the Kanji.Koohii: Add/remove number of flashcards script. If you haven't done so already, you should remove the obsolete Kanji.Koohii: Add upto flashcard number before (or after, doesn't matter that much) installing this one. Click "Tools/Greasemonkey/Manage User Scripts", select the script and click "Uninstall". Currently only for Firefox.

Having it both ways is more convenient. And in hindsight that was a terrible sentence.

But, I find it quite odd that we clamoured for the new interface, but suddenly want the old when we finally did, in fact, get the new.

But I digress.
