Seeing how versatile Google Documents appears, I'd thought I'd post links to non-copyright material I have on there. I'll top post non-copyright links by others if you wish.

Here are two file derived from the Kanken file posted on another thread. It's split in two. One has kanji with Heisig info added. The other are the other kanji not listed in RTK1 or 3. I used these for importing into anki and really like the set-up. In addition, the kunyomi column has a marker in the kana to tell where the actual kunyomi ends, but gives you a pseudo Japanese keyword(s) to work with.

iKnow Japanese Common Core (note: has audio and picture file names derived from Anki's streaming plug-in for iKnow. Just use Anki to strip files, then copy to folder you use for this spreadsheet).

Last year someone posted a document associated with Tanuki. Assuming it's still legit to use, here's a simplified version of that document. It lists: Kanji, OnYomi, KunYomi, Japanese Word (kana and kanji), Japanese Definition (kana and kanji), Japanese Example Sentence (kana and kanji).

Already grabbed the iKnow one when it was posted in the iKnow thread. I may look into the "advanced topics" part of Tae Kim's grammar.

I don't know if it's the right place or something that's already been said before, but it looks like Anki now supports shared decks too. To me this sounds like a great alternative to google docs for these big sentence-collecting distributed efforts you are managing.
It would let you start reviewing immediately, and every day you'd find new cards added by other people.
Am I wrong? I haven't tried that feature yet, so i may have misunderstood how it works.

just a quick error i saw on the first part of the tae kim sentences.

Basic Grammar, line 12, in kanji says "the test is today". 今日は試験だ。
in kana, it says "the test is tomorrow".  あしたはしけんだ。
あした　should be 　きょう

either way, this is an awesome resource!  thanks so much.

Hi. I just read a post at Mashable about "5 ways to colaborate on documents online in real time" and thought that it would be useful for anyone trying to use this kind of application. I personally like Zoho much more than Google docs because it has a much better interface, better sharing options and a chat integrated so you can edit documents and talk with other people doing the same in real time. Besides, you can log into Zoho using your Google Id, so if you can use Google Docs, you have all you need to use Zoho.

the following lines look like they've suffered from an overzealous  find/replace:

Japanese Core 2000 Step 02 - 097
Japanese Core 2000 Step 02 - 098
Japanese Core 2000 Step 02 - 189
Japanese Core 2000 Step 4 - 180

and these have kana in the English sentence field:

Hi all,

I am a newbie both to japanese learning and anki. Thanks for the excellent tips. I tried to export the file both as txt and csv. It seems that the field separation is coma while anki is looking for a tab or semicoma.

Kazelee, I don't exactly know how to set up a deck with anki. Help???

You're right. It's one of the quirk of Firefox. I have managed to save the file with cut and paste. Now I have another problem that assumingly due to Kubuntu's ANKI. Sigh.

save as plain text works for me (firefox on debian).  I guess it's ok to just share the deck (sans images and maybe audio) on the anki site?
