Communication is what people hear, not what you say. (the speaker is to blame, if the listen doesn't understand)

Amen. Communication is a Science (YouTube)

I remember a time when I got frustrated communicating on forums. Trying to change the way you post will not work. From my experience, gratitude is the easiest, quickest and most practical antidote.

How come that I sort of FEEL that this was sent in my direction? Not to those preferring to use nothing but invectives and insults when replying. Hmmmm... My communication is wrong, 'cause it causes poor souls to loose all self control and drown a thread in filth and YOU don't even lift a finger to stop the posse - YOUR word, not mine - from creating the worst possible thread in the history of this forum.

Fair and balanced? Me thinks not.

But you're still the boss and decide what impression the rest of the world will get from STUDENTS OF HEISIG. Just don't blame me without giving a single reason for your blame. I am getting fed up with insinuations without a single piece of evidence indicating WHAT is wrong and worthy of condemnation.

I'm fed up with this. KanjiHanzi you are banned sad

And by the gods, please do not email me, I have no time to quarrel with you by email.

I will try to post something later about this, out of courtesy, certainly not out of "duty".

There are about 1,330,044,544 Chinese people who couldn't care less you know. That's what I keep telling myself lately when I stress about something.

If everything KanjiHanzi wrote actually is true, I'm kinda wondering if it's actually possible that he acts this way because he IS an old Swede. (His old account name tells us he's Swedish, his claims to be older than my father puts him at around 55-65 years old).

He writes ok English like all Swedes do, but it's possible he came of as more aggressive than he meant, I've personally been in that situation many times.

Personally, I doubt he's that old since he acted like a child when critizised, but it's one possible solution and in that case, I guess we can all at least feel a bit sorry for him. I do think it's good that he's banned though, he was completely messing up the forum with his act. Hopefully he can create a new account and act a bit more mature and calm on it.

It's also possible he got extra aggresive because he started to study Japanese 25 years ago (that's what he said at least) and most of us are still better than him, having studied for less than 2 years. Maybe we've studied for MANY more hours in total, but it's certainly something I personally would be pretty bitter about, like I was when I found this site and heard people who has studied for half the time I had could read better than me.

Meh, I'm rambling.

This guy reminds me of stuff I've read about some blackjack card counters, whose dearest hope is to get caught counting by the pit boss, so they can write a book and crow about how their method is "So Good It's Banned by Vegas Casinos!"

My prediction for 2009 is that, somewhere out in the vastness of The Internets, KH will be posting about those lunatics/dogmatics/what-have-you at RTK rejecting him and his method/questions/clearsightedness/whatever.

(ETA: and that we at RTK will enjoy the respite from "run along, little boy" and "now that I've done your work for you" and, oh yeah, "Japanese is the MOST DIFFICULT LANGUAGE but Mandarin is a snap"...)

Can someone give a summary of what the hell happened here? I can't bring myself to read through all the stuff KH posted. It's too scatterbrained, and I can't tell exactly what his aim is by posting here.

Personally, I very much agree with lots of the criticisms of Heisig, but I don't understand how most of them connect to Heisig. I do find that a lot of people delude themselves about the importance of Heisig, and willfully misunderstand what Heisig is in order to make themselves feel better about not studying more actual Japanese. That said, I don't understand how that's a criticism of the Heisig method itself. That's an issue completely outside the actual method, which is actually very useful when used in a balanced and responsible manner.

He's already on the Anki forums, visibly pissing off the creator of the software, Damien.

I don't feel sorry for him. I feel sorry for everybody that knows him.

This is true.

Please Mr. ファブリス can you lock this thread as well? It seems it was only opened to finish what was started in the other thread.
