Can anyone recommend me some easy manga at around the Core2k level. I downloaded the first volume of Great Teacher Onizuka and was struggling to get through it. Haven't checked out anything else yet but figured I'd ask here first.

This thread may not be the best place for this and I'm not sure how Core2k level these manga are but they are what I read (or tried to read, at least) after completing Core2k:

could anyone please enlighten me as to how one might get these innocent reviews into a text file or pdf with the rubi displayed correctly so i might say read them on a kindle?
I googled it, and didnt have much joy. I know you can convert the aozora bunko files for kindle, but thats not really what I'm after .. sad

Give 謎の彼女X (なぞのかのじょX) a shot. I know it demands more terms than are in Core2K, but it's an easy read grammar-wise. Might be a good Core2K follow-up. Also, the first らんま1/2 book by 高橋留美子 is a decent read; just beware that the Chinese guide early in the story is speaking "broken" Japanese.

Try this site.
Just paste the text into it and it will convert it to a pdf thats written vertically. I believe you can also choose font size.

EDIT: Downloading the folders as archives replaces all the kana/kanji in the filenames, even the latin letters, with low slashes ("_"). Hopefully installing the dropbox app and downloading through that will fix it.

FYI, I had a similar problem when extracting from the archive with WinZip and WinRAR, but when I used PowerArchiver to do it the file names came out properly.

I had a dream in which my whole imaginary collection of Japanese light novels (or ranobe) disappeared due to a very sudden and realistic hard drive crash. I remember feeling particularly depressed because of losing 「NHKにようこそ」、「きののたび」and「狼と香辛料」(but of course in my dream many more titles were gone and that made me feel really sad). As it was a pretty nasty nightmare, I wonder if some good soul would help me chase it away and, say, share some pictures of cute, little Japanese kittens to make me feel better?

Aww, thanks Taishi, that's very sweet of you...

But that's not exactly what I had in mind. I might not have been specific enough, my apologies. What I was thinking about was, more like, Japanese kittens reading books, perhaps even, you know, in tiny reading glasses... If you had something of that sort, that would be perfect.

You know, if you look for the Japanese "reviews" dropbox/depositfiles links on page 10, it might soothe you over your cute kitten withdrawal. XD

In fact, that's the first place I checked and all the marvellous reviews of great books did indeed make me feel much better smile But I haven't been able to find any ranobe reviews there and so I thought someone might be able to help me out.

Never mind me guys, I must have been really tired yesterday. I found most of what I was looking for exactly where Bokusenou said it would be. Sheesh, I hate it when I turn into this brainless noob sometimes. Sorry and thanks!

Forget about my yesterday's babbling, I'm ok now smile

Oh, and by the way I had another dream today. I dreamt that I found volumes 10-14 of "Kino no Tabi", which are not included in the original collection. I dreamt that they could be acquired here: http://bit.ly/8mvqux4 . Come to think of it, the url might have been more, sort of... tiny, though. I can never get it right smile

I had a dream that there was a (non-aozora bunko formatted) text file of the first story in Kitchen (as in, not including Kitchen 2-Mangetsu, or Moonlight Shadow) but It was just a dream... I'll link to an awesome aquarium web cam to make you feel better:

Hmm, isn't sn.im weird looking? I wonder what would happen if one used the same alphanumeric code with some site like tinyurl.com...Don't you?

...a half-complete dream that is....

interesting though... i saw the other half of it at a book store. smile

Edit:
@Bokusenou
When i get round to it, someday, i'll proofread and complete "this kitchen dream". If i'm in the mood...  i might throw in some "omake pages". smile Do you like kimchee, lizard or moonlight?

Thanks IceCream! Are you planning on leaving them up, or is this just a temporary thing? Also, is that the Hongfire batch or the books Nestor collected?

IceCream drop is the same as hong batch.  About nest0r collection, i thought they were similar, maybe someone in nest0r circle is able to shade some light and enlighten his readers?

Back then, "demon torrent" had a few batch based on different genres like SF, light novels, J literature, J fiction, etc.  smile

Does anyone have a dedicated server with unlimited traffic? Reading online in Firefox or so is just sooo convenient:(

A long time back I know, but I am thinking of downloading from this non-existent thread and dumping the results on my VPS. I have a transfer limit of 2TB, but I can't see how 'nothing' will take up my bandwidth smile
