How to ask someone "what made you choose English language as a major at university" in Japanese?
I am having difficulty with the "What made you..." part, can't figure out how to translate it. Also, how would I say "What >inspired you< to choose English language as a major at university"?

Is there some general way to make statement like "What made you eat...", "What made you think...", "What made you laugh" e.t.c?

Besides this I have these 2 other sentences: "From the profile I find that you are interested in japanese" And "I am sure you know about this face already"

How do I translate the "I find that you are" in the first sentence and "I am sure" in the sencond sentece. I am just being held down by such simple phrases.

"What made you choose English language as a major at university"
どうして英語を専攻しようと思ったんですか?

"What inspired you to choose English language as a major at university"?
英語を専攻するきっかけとなったのは何ですか?

"What made you eat...", "What made you think...", "What made you laugh", etc...
The pattern どうして~しようと思った? or どうして~したんですか? or very close to what you are searching for.

"From the profile I find that you are interested in japanese"
プロファイルからすると日本語に興味があるようですね。

"I am sure you know about this face already" ... sorry, can't understand the meaning in English. Face? What?
Literally -> この顔のこと絶対知ってるだろうと思います。

There's no literal way to say "I find that you are", I think.

For "I am sure" you can use many patterns, such as Verb+はず, which I think is the easiest one.

Of course, there are many ways to say the same sentences.

Thanks, I thought that simply using どうして maybe somewhat rude. Is it really the way to say it?

Also, how would I say this one last sentence "as you can see I am not a beginner"
