I have a question I have a 100 kanji left in RTK 1 and my question is should i finish the 100  or start learning vocab and other stuff. I understand a lot of you would tell me to finish the 100 but my problem is that I am taking Spanish as well. I have to take a western language. I am really enjoying Spanish and studying everyday just like Japanese. Now that i am studying spanish i feel that my Japanese studies have dropped. I do not feel like learning anymore kanji i want to start learning words and vocab with the kanji i already know.I feel that i can come back to those kanji later or just learn them on the go. What do you guys think? Thanks for the help:D

Only 100... may as well finish. Move onto core or something.

I guess if you really dont want to, then you'll probably force and burn yourself out.

Or the other school of thought

You got to the end of the race and stopped right before the finish line.

If you can handle a little bit of pain and feel like you won't quit then the second. If else the first.

Can you pull out the most common of the last 100 and their necessary component parts, and just study those? You should be able to cut it down to the most essential 35 or so and blow through it in a couple of days.

Can you do both? Add the remaining 100 kanji at a slow pace (3-5 per day) and start learning vocabulary and grammar at the same time.

If you move at a comfortable pace, you shouldn't have any problems getting everything done. You just need to find that comfortable pace. You can go as slow as a couple of kanji and a couple of vocab words per day as long as you can maintain it and keep up your interest in studying Japanese.

手紙を送りました。 (て・がみ・を・おく・りました。 (= (I) sent a letter.)) is a basic phrase with three kanji in it.

手 (frame 637) and 紙 (1829) you probably recognise but what about 送 (2016)? I hope this will motivate to do this last mile. (Or, you can take a look at this thread.)

Maybe all you need is a little break?  I don't see anything wrong with moving on to other stuff right now.  Get away from the kanji for a few days or a week, then take a weekend and just blast through those final 100.

Or,  maybe just do 3 or 4 a day?  I'm sure you can manage that, and you'd finish up the final 100 in a month while still giving you plenty of time to move on to other stuff meanwhile.

Don't finish the 100.

Then don't.

Do that.

That's what you're supposed to do for the kanji you don't know anyway. What's a few more?
