Hmmm... so we've reached a page of recommendations, maybe we can stop here.
Watanabe Shinichirou is definitely eternal. Funny, I dled Noein a couple of days ago. For those who have the mecha vibe, I'm currently watching Linebarrels of Iron, quite satisfying so far. Miyamura Yuuko is a classic.

There's a few things here I haven't watch, I'll start by that. There were unexpected things too. The palm goes to Nagareboshi: the show looks funny, I'll be sure to watch it (have you guys watched 男子高校生の日常? [EDIT: It's also a short funny show, which gives insight to the Japanese mindset; not for everybody, but I recommend it]).

Thanks to each and everyone of you, this should keep me going (again). Good luck to all in your studies/projects/work. See you on the J-Drama side. wink

EDIT: @vix86: sorry for the lack of clarity

No, I have avoided it primarily because it gives off the vibes that its a for girls and might have a heavy 腐女子 leaning. Most mainstream animes these days have some minor fan service stuff for the 腐女子 but I tend to avoid excessive stuff where I can unless its just that decent of a series.

I was going to say Berserk too because it's pretty damn "manly" and all but I can't stand it when anime studios take on manga that isn't finished and leave you out to dry with some dumb cliffhanger ending with no intention of ever going back to finish the series.

Ya this is so bad. when I read this one word popped into my head in giant letters...
GANTZ

it's pretty manly and awesome tho considering the terrible ending. I'd fully endorse reading the manga however, speaking as someone with all 34 books sitting on a crowded shelf in his bathroom.. the stuff is amazing.

@Marble101 ya I want to watch Brotherhood but I already watched the first one and just can't deal with re-watching the same first 40-or so episodes that were based on published manga, before the original veered off onto it's own track.

Neither manly nor girly, actually somewhat 無味 but I liked it anyway: 蟲師
I Also bought all the manga, Everything is about the same, only more stories and fewer cross story links.

Also, I have not watched the Ruorouni Kenshin series but I have seen the four part ovature which is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. The Man Spirit is written all over it.

So I finally enlisted in MyAnimeList ("MAL, c'est le mal"), which is a weird place, sometimes really useful, and sometimes so painstakingly time consuming it's almost unbelievable. And I finally dug out what I wanted to. Check out the list on the right.
