I'm looking for a good online Japanese radio station that plays rock music.  Does anyone know where I can look?  Please no more JPop smile

Oh, well, if you just want to listen to J-rock, then go to last.fm and input the name of some of your favorite bands or the keywords jrock and j-rock. I have a free account there because it has far more Japanese music than pandora, even though it's not nearly as famous, but kind of the same idea.

Of course, it doesn't guarantee getting anything that's particularly recent or particularly popular, and it's -not- as clever as pandora and does rely on keywords and not 'music genetics' or whatever, but, y'know, the content is in there if you play around with it.

You'll still get jpop of course, because of the number of things cross-tagged jpop/jrock, but you'll only get the more rock-like jpop, of course. Once you have enough tracks listened to, you can self-select a 'personal' radio station and ban things that are too pop for you.

I had a similar problem, but found a great list of stations, http://www.simulradio.jp/ I bet some of them mostly play your genre, just take a look around there. I know that FM. Wappy does play rock from time to time, but they aren't on air 24/7. Anyway, I hope you will find a station you like, it is at least worth a try. smile

Another option is to check itunes.  In the program, under libraries on the left, click radio, then international.  Scroll down to the Js and there's some down there.
