Has anyone ever purchased the paper flash cards for RtK?

I found the RtK cards on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Kanji-Study-Cards … amp;sr=8-3

I also know that free PDFs of it are available online. If one were to use the flash cards, it might be just as cheap to purchase them, considering the time saved and cost of ink. However, is this still an effective way of studying in the age of the iPhone?

I was wondering if anyone purchased/printed these cards recently, or are these just left over materials from the age before Apps were invented.

I honestly can't think of a single advantage that paper flashcards have over their digital counterparts. However, disadvantages abound:
- no fine-tuned spacing system
- unable to carry them around and study wherever you want
- easy to lose a card
- if you want to see a specific card, you have to hunt forever to find it
- reviewing is slower

I used them a long time ago.  I don't see any reason to buy them, between Anki and this site.  They are an annoyance to carry around, and are less efficient, IMO.

Thanks for the feedback. I really want to use any possible study aid that's available, but the paper flash cards are something that I feel cannot be much help these days.

It would be nice to hear if someone benefited from using this older way of studying, recently. Otherwise, I'll stick with the iphone apps as study aids.

I used to use paper flashcards several years ago and I was amazed with how well they worked for me.

Then I discovered SRS and Anki. Haven't used paper flashcards since.

I purchased them years ago, when I first found this method and got excited about it.  But I have to confess that they stayed in their box for the most part, and it was (a lot of) money wasted . . . There's just nothing like this site for reviewing . . . !!!

SRS software is just better. If you can use any of those, dont waste money on flashcards. More effective and free.
