I'm sure quite a few of you are living in Fukuoka and I hope you could be able to answer my question.

My girlfriend and I are moving to Fukuoka in a few weeks. We've been living in Chiba pref. for the whole year and had everything we needed in the rented apartment. Now we've found a nice apt. 'down there' but things like the fridge, gas cooker, washing machine, TV [well, just for immersion ] etc. need to be obtained separately. I've heard there are companies offering renting home appliances for a few thousand yen a month. We have no intention of buying these things. Our Japanese is still 'mada mada' and we can do the search ourselves. However, advice from seasoned Fukuokers with better Japanese ability is much better.

Any advice - phone numbers/websites of relevant companies that are reliable and not too pricey - very welcome!

Also, which ISP in Fukuoka do you like best - ucom, jcom, kddi? We know their prices, just wondering about the quality of connection/service, especially near Hakata.
