All work and no play? No way! We as a Community of dedicated learners of all ages deserve to take a break from learning sometimes. Not too long though. And here is something for all of you to get away from the books for a moment. Steam is currently offering the Game Portal for free. All you need is Steam and you can play this excellent game. But you have to hurry to get it - since this game is only available until tomorrow.

More on this website Steam The download is 5GB. Have fun.

I shouldn't be the only one who wondered who raped his account. I read your post in a male sales pitch voice in my head.

Portal is a bit overrated, despite me liking it. I've also played and beat Portal 2 about 3 times.

Whether or not Portal is overrated, it's fantastic value for *free* and I would recommend it to everyone. It's not a long game and it has much that is delightful in it. I do not think, however, that I learnt any physics at all while playing it.

Yeah I was going to edit my post indicating it's great for the price of free. If you haven't endured thousands of stupid cake jokes from annoying fans of the series, then you'll enjoy it even more.

I actually think Portal is one of the best games of the last few years.  So, if you don't have it, definitely get it.

You don't even need to make it a break from learning Japanese, do you? I'm pretty sure you can activate Japanese subtitles for all dia/monologues in the game. No Japanese VA though, unfortunately. (this is going by what I've seen of Japanese doing 実況プレー of Portal 2, my comp can't handle any modern games)

At best you learn about acceleration with a variable gravitational field.

But you're not gonna shove your companion cube down a 20 degree incline with static and dynamic coefficient friction numbers and need to calculate the final velocity. smile

I was trying to be creative for a change, and I hope no one will ever rape my account. Which happened recently when a hacker hacked a shop website I was freuqenting ... But say, was it really that bad? smile

Ah yes, I totally forgot that this is possible! Thanks for reminding me. Even the advertisement turned to Japanese now. I only wish I could remember the account under which I registered The Last Remnant, since it would be a real delight to be able to play this one in Japanese. And I know that it offers Japanese Audio and Text. smile
