i am only on 1754 but i have noticed that i will often be confronted with primitives or primitive combonations that turn out to be full kanji with completely different meaning later in the RTK 3 book. if i am going to learn the primitive anyway i might as well give it its real meaning rather that the one arbitrarily given by heisig. i dont mind arbitrary meanings for non kanji primitives, or even adding arbitrary meanings to primitives that i already know (like making thread into spiderman) becuase they are linked with real meaning.
however i would really apprciate if an advanced user could give me a list of kanji like
the primitive "mosaic" which later turns out the be "comma symbol" why so i can just learn them the right way the first time. now i am just relying on people linking to the future kanji in their posts. and i am sure i have missed quite a few.
also the simple primitive combonations that alone are an advanced kanji but are not combined since becuase they aren't part of the 2000 in RTK1. i find it to be just as fast to give primitive combos a meaning (especially if they are a real kanji combo later) than to deal with them seperately and then re learn them later.
the problem of course being that i dont know which one fit the bill until it is too late. so i was hoping someone who has finished RTK3 could skim through and find the redundant once and make a list out of them (prefeably with links) so that i could throw them into what i am already learning at the more appropriate times. (kind of like heisig did for the more recent 198 or so new general use kanji that game out in 2010)
