well I am feeling very festive to day as I finally have 86% of my cards in the my 4+ review pile so here ya go fabrice, a big €100.00     donation.  It's the least I can do since i have spent at least 1000 hours one here so that's
10 cents/hr which is extremely cheap XD.

Since i love fund-raising for worthy opportunities  I offer the members of kanji koohii a challenge, if you can raise $150.00 by Dec 31/10 (It would be dec 25th but that's to soon) I will donate the other 150.00 to double the original goal  to 1000.00.  But here's the catch, if the members don't raise the total amount of money by the allotted time, there will be no matching.  The ball is in your court members, how much is this site worth to you?

Fabrice, do you confirm each donation on here? B/c that would really help.

Good luck.

wulfgar - you amaze me.  €100! You are just too generous. Outstanding!

I can't wait to see fabrice's and truando's replies.  I can already see truando in a fit of joy~

I think that is an excellent proposal to all the members of kanji koohii. Also, I'm going to assume you meant to put "€" instead of a dollar sign in front of 150?

I really hope we can reach that big 1000! This is just plain awesome of you, wulfgar!

That. Is. *******. Awesome.

Well, I just made a second donation, so we're €15 on the way. Let's keep this going!

If you haven't donated yet, all I have to say to you is this:

情けは人の為ならず!

Aww, crap. I'll throw in 15 euros too, in addition to the five I donated earlier. (I don't know how to make the euro sign. xD) -goes to donate-

Edit: @ Nuriko - I think Truando may have a stroke at the news...

I think it's important to get Fabrice's confirmation on this - after all it's Wulfgar's money on stake, and we're talking real money here.

In other words wulfgar should only make his second donation after getting Fabrice's confirmation that €850 have indeed been reached.

Thanks!

I also think that's really important - wulfgar's doing a lot for fabrice and the community and definitely deserves that confirmation.

OK, another €10 from me.

This enables us to reach another major milestone: four digits in the US$ : $1,001 !

So in less than 4 hours, the total has risen by a whopping €155.

If this rate kept up forever, ファブリス would become an exceedingly rich forum admin. tongue

The amazing thing is, that Blahah's post #145 and chart start to become reality after being regarded as a joke...

Ok everyone - important news here! I'm going to be putting together a "hall-of-fame" list of all the users who have donated to Fabrice for the 2010 Christmas fundraiser.

Though I sincerely appreciate your enthusiasm, in my opinion that goes a bit too far. A person can only spare as much as she or he can spare and the amount is -in essence- irrelevant. Although there could be a 'major benefactors' list, like with foundations who receive private funding, something like that is rather up to ファブリス to create. But even that is somewhat over the top for a small site like this, I think.

So, as written above, please donate, any amount you can spare is fine. Help ファブリス get through a cold winter and show your appreciation of this site if it was useful to you! smile

I can see KanjiDevourer's point...

It might be demotivating for people who can only afford €5, which might be much more in proportion to their assets than someone else donating €50...

I agree, let's keep it simple.

I think that's lovely, IceCream! Thanks! I'm sure we can find someone for the other half of the €5.

Anyone?

big_smile Ice Cream has a good situation.

I have about €1.9 on my bank account, It's even less than is needed to pay for a Europe bank transfer sad. Well I hope it will change before the new year:D.

But anyways, Ice Cream is very motivating...

Wow, you guys are Nuts! ^^

I woke up this morning checked my email and got six new emails.

While the email were downloading I thought "bummer... probably another spammer" (reports from the forum notified by email) but then I saw they were from PayPal.

Donations received last night (in the order they were received):
100 € (wulfgar)
15 € (astendra)
15 € (nohika)
15 € (I think jcdietz03)
10 € (truando)
2,34 € (IceCream)

THANK YOU KANJITEERS!!

PS: I agree with KanjiDevourer. I wish I already had put in place some sort of donation badge (this was suggested here a few times), but alas.

Usually it is not so easy to link usernames and donations (not that really need to, but I would if I were to "flag" the account with a donor badge): PayPal notifications include an email address, often a real name, maybe an address. They don't use the account names from this site. I don't want to post any real names here without express permission, to respect people's privacy. Sometimes the email is the same as the forum, but most times it is not. In this thread it is easier because I can correlate the amounts received with the posts people made, in the order they were made.

PPS: Need more coffee.

I will ... as soon as I've verified my paypal-account, which unfortunately will take some more days. So I'm glad the "deadline" was moved to the 31st. smile
