I'm glad my little post has ignited a fire storm of interest.  Whats the total now?

@truando: lol at the "wulfgar challenge" I like the sound of that tongue.

@Fabrice: I'm not sure how you can show me ppl have donated, m/b emails from from paypal but anyway, email me if you do reach the 850 mark.  I Spencer will be looking forward to that email.

I posted a few donations in here that came soon after the thread started because I didn't know if the donors did see this topic. But otherwise nearly all donations that came after truando started this thread were confirmed here by the respective donors.

If that's ok with you both, I could post a little something on the site news Friday to help reach the finish line smile  I know there are quite a few users who don't visit the forum, or not very often. I didn't want to post earlier because truando started it, but now he's reached the target and some more wink. What do you think?

Ok everyone - important news here! I'm going to be putting together a "hall-of-fame" list of all the users who have donated to Fabrice for the 2010 Christmas fundraiser.

Though I sincerely appreciate your enthusiasm, in my opinion that goes a bit too far. A person can only spare as much as she or he can spare and the amount is -in essence- irrelevant. Although there could be a 'major benefactors' list, like with foundations who receive private funding, something like that is rather up to ファブリス to create. But even that is somewhat over the top for a small site like this, I think.

So, as written above, please donate, any amount you can spare is fine. Help ファブリス get through a cold winter and show your appreciation of this site if it was useful to you! smile

Hm, ok~ fair enough. Makes sense, too ^^ I'll delete my original post so people don't think I'm still going to be making a list or whatever. Thanks for your opinion!

I don't think we can gather 50 donations. [long explanation of why it's not possible]

Quoted from p1 of this thread.  Fabrice is wrong.  I know we're all donating him money, myself included.  Now it's your turn to be humble for once Fabrice.  Admit defeat!  Note: The number of Individual donations may not yet have reached 50, but it's got to be darn close.

Well this month, you have already received 700+ Euro; it could be more depending on how generous people are feeling. smile

1. They feel generous and/or 2. They're motivated to reach the "goals," which leads me to... 3. They fall victim to truando's smooth-talk wink

Donated €25. Merry Christmas Fabrice!

I wanted to donate a long time ago, but I did not have Paypal and it seemed quite a bother to get it/ I didn't want it. But this thread made me check the donations page again and I saw that European Bank Transfer has been made a possibility. Didn't have to hesitate for a second. I cannot even begin to imagine where my current Japanese ability would be without this website and this forum, and I'm very, very grateful for Fabrice for creating these opportunities.

Dear brothers and sisters in Kangee

This is history! We're close to getting €1000 in an internet forum.

Please donate to make this happen! There were 45 donations so far. Thank you!

€12 - A really small donation, dare I say, if compared with the contribution of this site to my Japanese studies.
Thanks again, Fabrice.

25€ in the coffee 'kitty' and Joyeux Noλl Fabrice!

Thanks to kame3 I'm now aware of the possibility to donate by European Bank Transfer and put it to good use. This site and its community has helped me a lot with my Japanese studies, so I'm happy that truando's and Nuriko's constant nagging pushed me from the "Some time in the future I'll donate some money." to the "What the heck... now or never!".

I wish you all a Merry Christmas smile

Hahaaaa! fantastic Biene! Thanks! Vielen Dank - ein sehr groίzόgiger Beitrag!

We are only €30.66 short of Wulfgar's Challenge - we might even reach it today!

BTW: the 66 cents are getting on my nerves, as I have to calculate the total and the amount to Wulfgar's €850 after every donation. I could learn one Kanji instead.

Anybody care for a 66 cent donation to get rid of the problem?

Thank you! That's good to hear because I updated the donate page about a month ago. I reduced text a little, and outlined the bank transfer option with a clear link to the contact page. It was there before, but not not made clear at all. A good lesson learned. I did notice there were more requests for bank transfers, even before this donation raise started. Before the donation page update I used to get a wire transfer request about once a month. Clearly, for people in European countries it is a good option. If you have "online banking" it can be even easier to use than PayPal, and no need for credit card.

Thank you kame3, ahuvia and Biene!

@truando: I was gonna say, round it up or down, not a big deal; but it would be funny if someone sees this and adds the 66 cents big_smile

PS: received a 20 € PayPal donation from J.B. yesterday, after IceCream, and before ahuvia's.

Fabrice, it's my job, I'm a freelance musician, gotta have my act together...

RE the rounding: I have to be correct down to the cent. and - yes I'm waiting for those 66 cents it would be funny, indeed big_smile

The €20 donation - what shall I do with it? add it? I probably should.

OK - we're missing exactly €10.66 to meet Wulfgar's Challenge.

Who's the one ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

21 $$$$$$$ ≈ 15 measly €

An unbelievably minuscule amount for such an amazing site. Will augment my donation when I return to the real world.

YAY~

Sweet! xD We went over, too.

(See, truando? I got rid of the .66 euros).

Nice! What with the 'wulfgar challenge' and all, I figured we could reach this quite some time before the 31st. smile Thanks to everyone who made this possible!

So I guess as soon as Fabrice confirms this, all of wulfgar's money are belong to him?
