Good evening,

Before exposing the issue I'm facing, I would like to thank the creators of this very useful site.

Now, I have been using the french version of RTK "Les kanjis dans la tête", and as you may know, the key-words are very different, thus, I use this site to create flashcards and stories based on the equivalent french key words, and that works fine. Unfortunately, I have a problem importing the flashcards in anki the way I would like after having exported them from this website.

Actually, I can open the file with open office just fine and there is no problem importing it into Anki as long as I don't touch it. Unfortunately, when I do a revision using this file with Anki, it gives me a number and I have to guess the kanji corresponding to that number, obviously it's a very long task because I have to search for the corresponding french key words using another file in order to be able to answer. Therefore, I tried modifying the file in order to replace the numbers with the french key words of the other file, but after that, I can no longer import it into anki (utf-8 problem). I would like to know how I could modify that, I'm know this has been somehow answered in another topic, but I could still not manage anything after having read it.

I thank you in advance for your answers.

You may prefer to use Anki, but just for your information: after tomorrow's update you will be able to import your own keyword list and replace all keywords with the french ones. You can already try it on the test website.

Also please note:

Please note that Anki has a dedicated forum at http://groups.google.com/group/ankisrs

All technical / troubleshooting Anki topics MUST be posted on Anki's own forums!

Topics about learning with Anki (eg: decks, review schedules and so on) are welcome in the Learning resources forum.

This message above shows when you try to post a topic with "anki" in the title, but I understand you may not have seen it. I will leave this topic open but please follow the notice next time.

Really ? That's good news. Thank you.

I will probably use that new function, however, it would still like to know how I could manage to do what I want with Anki because I would like to be able to study without necessarly having an access to the internet.
