Suggestion: possibility for further personalization

I really love this site! However here are the points that I think would further improve usabilty. (Although I don't have a single clue as to how difficult it would be to implement this...)

1) Some kanji have two different keywords (due to changes made by Heisig in a new edition). I find that quite distracting. For example in my book '男' has the keyword 'man' and '雄' is 'male'. Now when in a recent review session the keyword "male/man" popped up, I read 'male' first thing and immediately wrote down '雄' - but of course '男' was asked for.
My vision is a dropdown menu in the profile settings where you can choose your edition so that only those keywords appear.

2) Not so important, but I was wondering why you can make some settings (like "Filter: All/RTK1" and "View: Simple/Full" in Review tab or number of elements to display in detailled list), but thos settings are not saved in the profile, so you have to adjust them every time you visit the respective site...

I don't want to sound nagging, so I'll finish again by stating that in general I find the whole site just amazing!! Thank you for creating it!

As for the (1) I think now or soon you will be able to modify the keyword so you could put anything you want there.

1) Indeed, Customize Keyword should solve this nicely. Supporting multiple editions would be similar to have predefined kanji keyword sets. This is a lot of work for little gain, because some users will still want something different than the default set. Not everyone agrees on all of Heisig's revisions, those keywords he updated, those he didn't. Seeing as the "multiple editions" keywords are few (35 for RTK1+3) I think the Customize Keywords will be a better workaround.

But ... once this is live, perhaps it would be better to remove all those "xxxx/yyyy" multiple edition keywords and just stick the latest edition in there. Understanding that those that have older revisions can change them easily.

2) I'll add to my todo list to work on some kind of generic state-saving mechanism.

Maybe a simple import from spreadsheet/list option or something similar would be helpful to a lot of people. Allowing for as many or as a few kanji to be customized. And some way to save custom sets to the server for other people to use.

I don't know if this really solves using the import or not, but an alternative could be a "create template deck"/"save deck as template" fonction, so instead of importing, one could share his edits with other users. For example, one guy edits all the RTK kanji in Albanian, "save as template", then all the following Albanian users can choose the Albanian template deck in a dialog box (maybe only language templates would be allowed, since if every user starts uploading his own deck with only a couple edits, that really would be a mess).
How does this sounds?

Sharing custom keywords sets was not planned. One issue is the official Spanish, French and German translations will end up on there, and I don't have their permission to use the keywords on the website.

I might get it for Spanish since Mario did get it for his Greasemonkey script, but other authors had reservations and I assume they didn't change their mind.

At least it will be possible to set your keywords in your mother tongue, and once I add import you could share such lists, but not on this forum. I don't have other solutions right now.

You're right, the customizable keywords will do the trick just fine. Thanks for the awesome work!
By now I have finished with the book and trained myself to only look on the right-hand side of a keyword (i.e. the 5th edition keyword), but the option to customize will still be an invaluable addition to the site!

Probably. I guess the vast majority of active users will be using the 5th edition.
