There's been a bit of chatter about the L-R method here recently. This thread is a place to collect resources for the method. Ideally, post a link to a zipped collection with the audio and a parallel English/Japanese text.

I'll kick it off with this mediafire folder where I'll put all the packs I make.

I'll update this contents list as I add more:

Available packs:
- Kokoro Part 1 (of 3) (Natsume Souseki) with audio and parallel text.

There's a wiki page here (and a thread). Some of the are parallel texts.

Thanks travis, but those are audiobooks, some of which have accompanying texts, and some occasional replies with parallel stuff. This thread is specifically for collecting parallel texts with accompanying, unabridged audio. Some of the materials will probably be sourced from that thread/wiki article, but the produce isn't the same.

Bauddha.net has a few other parallel texts but I don't find the way they are formatted to be as useful for L-R.

Nice one sheetz. Am I correct in thinking you make yours with interlaced English and Japanese? Mine are opposite text (Japanese in left column, English in right) with the beginning of each paragraph aligned.

銀河鉄道の夜, Scandal in Bohemia, and Petit Prince are in parallel. Nowadays, I've begun making them interlaced as I prefer it for L-R.

What's your interlacing method? Do you hard-return after each line, then use numbering and column-sorting in a spreadsheet to align them?

^You can do that, but when I tried it with Black Peter I still found it to be a pain to get the sentences lined up properly. In the end I gave up and just did it manually since it's a relatively short story. That's why that website with the interlaced texts is such a godsend.
