Thanks caivano, the example really helps. Personally I find the difference between the two really really subtle anyway.

Yeah, I'd never have heard a difference there unless I'd been primed to listen for one. I guess my ears are just made of cloth...

I thought it was a "g" with some nasal feature, but it turns out that it's really an "n" sound! I've never noticed something like that before!
