Do you use Anki 1 or Anki 2?

one

If you are copy-pasting directly into Anki (instead of importing), you need to use the Anki HTML editor. You can access the HTML editor in the Browser by either clicking the HTML editor button or pressing Ctrl-F9.

Tried upgrading and clean install. Nightly 24. Never any problems with any version before.

I've re-uploaded Rikaisama v19.0 to Sourceforge. Hopefully it fixed the issue you are seeing.

Yup thanks.

That's by design. Though I suppose I could add a save token for conjugation...

Could the program generate audio for the ''no audio'' I hear half of the time? Thanks in advance.

I'm not quite certain what you are suggesting. Perhaps you can explain in more detail.

There's words that doesn't have sound. Could them be generated by rikaisama?

You mean something computer generated Text-to-Speech?

Yup. Using SAPI (5) voices similar to what AwesomeTTS does in anki2 would be better.

I have a problem where pressing 'F' doesn't play the audio. I downloaded the Japanese->English dictionary deck. Just to make sure it was reading my keyboard presses, I tried using other shortcuts (such as Hide/Show Definition), and they all worked.

I also tried the option of playing audio on hover, but that doesnt work either. The audio volume is set to 100.

I had the audio working with the real-time importing before, but now I can't even hear the audio through the browser. sad

Thanks! big_smile

Is a firewall or real-time virus scanner running on your PC? If so check the settings and allow all traffic for the processes related to Rikai to pass through the firewall.

Add.: In case your Internet Security package also has a Sandbox function, check the respective settings as well, and move or delete anything that has got to do with Rikai.

Like Nagareboshi said, maybe your security software is blocking Rikaisama from downloading the audio or maybe it is blocking bassplayer-win.exe, which is the audio player that is bundled with Rikaisama.

I am totally flummoxed.

I'm trying to take advantage of Rikaisama's real-time import function, and did my best to match up the fields in my cards with the fields listed under the Anki tab of the Rikaisama addon.

When I press R, though, I always get the message, "error, too few fields, line not added!"

I've attempted to create several 'clean' decks from scratch using the online instructions exactly, but no luck.

Any clues on what could be happening?

Also, here is the error message, I think it is the correct one?

An error occurred in an add-on.

For starters you can set "DEBUG = True" instead of "DEBUG = TRUE", restart Anki, attempt to real-time import from Rikaisama, and post the contents of the real_time_import.log file that appears in Anki's addons directory.

I have just uploaded version 19.1 of the Rikaisama Firefox extension.

Download version 19.1 via SourceForge

What's New?

● Added option to have Rikaisama span DIV elements when performing lookups. It is disabled by default. To enable:
1) Type "about:config" in the address bar.
2) In about:config's search box, enter "rikaichan.mergedivs".
3) Double-click rikaichan.mergedivs to set the value to "true".

I'm probably the only one who will ever use this feature which is why I didn't add a GUI option. I added this feature so that I can use Rikaisama with the PDF files that e.Typist generates. Example:

To cb4960: a heartfelt thanks for your ongoing generosity.  Many of us benefit greatly from your talent and effort.

I'm hoping someone can help me figure out how to set up the audio for anki2. Apologies if this has already been asked and answered.

Is R meant to populate the anki fields as well as download the actual mp3 file, or should I also be pressing F to save the audio? (After entering the anki media folder location in the Save options and checking the "save audio on play" option.)

Incidentally, I wonder if including something in the rikaisama sourceforge help pages about needing to put  "[sound:$a]" in the Save option format might be a good idea for any folks like me who don't really understand how tokens work. (I was quite lost until I finally came across a comment of Tori-kun's hinting at a solution.)

I think (some) other PDFs are like this too. What makes you think you would be the only one to use that feature?

Currently, R doesn't download the mp3 files so you'll have to press F (or S or X) to download them to the Saved Audio folder. I should probably add an option to automatically save it to avoid the annoying extra keystroke.

That's a good idea. I'll try to put something up on the help page soon.

If you think that there would be demand for it, I suppose I could add a checkbox in the Options dialog.

On the other hand, the benefits of hearing an unfamiliar word probably far outweighs any inconvenience of one more keystroke. :-) I just wanted to make sure I had it set up right.

Folks who use F for general reading will want to avoid having a deck open though. Or else use the 'delete unused media' from time to time.

One additional Q: The 'no audio' message gets saved as "kana-kanji.mp3". Is there any way to mark what's saved in the audio field so that we could easily find & replace them as a batch (and then delete the unused media.)? Alternatively, the no audio messages don't get saved?   (Thanks for getting rid of the original audio unavailable message btw - that was indeed annoying.) I'm not familiar with programming, so pls disregard this if it requires much fiddling.

I'm going to rework this feature soon so that the 'no audio' messages don't get saved.

I have just uploaded version 19.2 of the Rikaisama Firefox extension.

Download version 19.2 via SourceForge

What's New?

● The "no audio" files are no longer saved to the audio directory.

● Added the "Save audio when one of the Anki Real-Time Import keys is pressed" checkbox to the Anki tab. It is disabled by default.

● Added the "Merge DIV elements" checkbox to the General tab. It is disabled by default.

Thanks again for your great work, cb4960.

I've used Rikaisama for a long time, and it's been a great tool.

Is there any make the "Clipboard & Save" tab somewhat more user-friendly?

As it is now, you have to scan the token list and type them, which looks like this:

http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/ecb4/6541ssbd5k4qbxy9g.jpg

Could it be possible to have the tokens in a selectable menu, more similar to something like this? (reference image from a different program)

http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/95db/k3j71h6jtdd5ynb9g.jpg

The idea would be, for example, having all available tokens in one column, and moving and ordering the ones you'll actually use by clicking the tokens and the arrows.

I know it's not a key feature, but it would make handling tokens in that tab so much easier.

Sorry if I'm being nitpicky, and thanks for your great work again.
