Fabrice, could you request from Heisig the permission to list his stories from the first 200 or so Kanji of RTK from the free PDF? They could be under a "James Heisig" or "RevTK" account that's always at the top (infinite stars) or a displayed story viewable if you select the option to display it.

Seems so obvious that I'm wondering if it's already been considered before.

No, never thought of it. What I considered early on was to actually block sharing stories for these to avoid duplicating his. I'm not sure Heisig and/or publishers would agree because the stories are still their own, the fact that they are displayed in a "sample" PDF doesn't mean that they are free of rights.

But practically speaking, what benefit do you see?

Obviously, Heisig and his publisher would have to agree. As it'll be from those made freely available, I think he will be more than willing to allow this. If not, well, then the point is moot. If they do allow it, then it's on to whether it's practical.

From a practical standpoint, it's been pointed out that the stories from part 1 on this site have been more sparse than the later kanji due to most of us using Heisig's stories anyway. I'm not aware of how many of us copy over the stories into here from the PDF (anyone care to comment here?) but it's bound to be more than a few. That users copy over from the PDF means there is merit to already have the stories ready to copy directly from this site.
