Very simple suggestion.

How about a page with directly links to the greasemonkey scripts
on this site?

As more and more Greasemonkey scripts are created,
it becomes more cumbersone to have to sift through the
Greasemonkey thread in hopes of finding the script that you want.

It will be quicker and easier to update a thread in the forum, rather than edit a page on the main site.

I propose to "Sticky" a topic in the same way as I did for the "Essential Resources" thread, and the author of the topic will be able to edit the first post whenever they want; while the discussion in the thread can go on.

If Ricardo is up for it, I could sticky up Site enhancements by users (Greasemonkey scripts), since it's already there.

woelpad also might be interested in updating such a topic? In that case he will have to create a new thread so that he can edit the first post.

Let me know what.

I created the thread just for that, so if you want to make it a sticky, I think that's nice.

Ideally, we could host all scripts at http://userscripts.org/ and tag them the same way, so it would be a centralized place just for that. Actually, it seems that woelpad is doing it already (I'm the lazy one) :-)

The lazy one would be me then, as I should have created such a thread long ago. I've made a start on it now: Woelpad's scripts. Make it stick wink

Hmmm ok, I would have preferred to sticky one thread for both of you's, to avoid getting a long list of Stickied topics over time. But I'll sticky both for now. Eventually I might be able to setup some moderator account where you can both edit the same topic.

The userscripts page is neat, and perhpas you could both point to it in the first post. It's not very descriptive though, so it wouldn't stand on its own.

True, if there are more people with shareable scripts (as could be expected), a single moderated thread would be more effective. Reactions to the scripts would go in other threads, links to which should be available in the info for the script.

I'm slowly adding my script info to my thread. The quicker you decide, the less double work for me wink

Now that I think of it, yes, you could make the work easier for you and I think more practical for users by summing up all your scripts in the first post. If someone wants to post in that thread for example, to comment or ask questions, it will mix with your one-script-per-post list. Either way is fine with me, it won't be difficult to merge later if needed. And the original threads will also remain anyway.

I've now finished writing down the essential information for each script in Woelpad's scripts. It's not quite as fancy or compelling as Ricardo's, but download the scripts and you'll find out. A more precise description of what they do can usually be found by following the First featured in links.

Next step would be to make a few long put-off improvements. Though I also have over a 1000 cards to clear. Priorities...

Hi,

I've been using the kanji links script for a couple weeks and its been a great help for me, but suddenly stopped working today. Not sure why, tried the simple things, restarting everything, reinstalled the script, then uninstalled and reinstalled greasemonkey but still not having any luck. Any ideas why?

I assume you mean Insert Story Links and Pictures? I checked with the latest version and saw no problem. (Also checked Opera and no problem either.) Is it just one aspect of the script that's not functioning (story area vs. user stories, html links vs. pictures or links to other stories or shortened frame references) or did it stop completely? Is it activated (not grayed out)? Is it listed above or below Story with Line Breaks? Below would be best.

Navigation tip: If you follow the link in reply #8, then locate the script and click the link to its discussion thread, you can post your question there. Makes it easier to track.
