Hey, there are some dope tracks around here. I discovered japanese hip hop 2 years ago but it's still difficult to get the album, especially 12" from some artists.

I've bought some ill CD's on Amazon.co.jp but all the others songs i want to have are available only in japanese record shops which don't ship to International.
One of the best track i've ever heard is this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgsl8zSNRWs
But the 12" is really hard to find, and where you find it you can't purchase it arrrrrrghhhh.
ECD 12" are also hard to find, i've recorded an old Youtube video of "Summer Madness (Illicit Tsuboi Remix)" But you can't find the instrumental, you can get only the "Barbecue Mix Version" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8OoDfZgfZA

I'm looking for old school japanese 12".
Particularly this one, the beginning sounds great, the track comes from Cuzsick's album called "Little Ditty" released in 1999/2000 : http://www.cocobeat-records.com/index.p … s_id=27002

And this one (the second track) : http://www.cocobeat-records.com/index.p … cts_id=952

I've come across a few 12", though they are in the form of mp3.  Most are on the hip-hop blog we run.  Mind listing the "ill CD's" you bought from Amazon.co.jp?

I've bought these CD's :
- Naked Artz - 浸透 PENETRATION (the album). Some of tracks on this CD are just crazy. I've also tried to purchase the maxi CD but i was no more available on amazon.co.jp

- O2 - Stay True (2009), 街道14 this track is really good. The album sounds like a 1990's era one

-Schadaraparr - 5th Wheel 2 the Coach (a classic)

-T.A.K The Rhyme Head - The Words (Maxi CD) (1996), i've bought this one, a japanese guy who uploaded good old tracks told me that this CD was cool. 5 tracks with good samples, scratch, good vibes. But the japanese guy had his account deleted.

But i think you already know and already have all this stuff. I prefer to buy 12", because i prefer to put my hand on the wax and feel the vibes, but almost all the 12" from Scha dara parr or other famous groups aren't available any more. I've tried to find them on cdandlp.com but you can't find many japanese vinyl here.
The only one i've bought was : http://www.discogs.com/Microphone-Pager … se/1302207
and this one : http://www.discogs.com/Rino-Microphone- … se/1360014

But the second is not really cool, i prefer to listen to Don't Turn Off Your Light 12"

I've also other albums which i found on Ongaku street Live Journal. But this blog closed few months ago. It was replaced by an other blog, but the new wasn't as good as the old one...

Good choice.

- O2 - Stay True (2009), 街道14 this track is really good. The album sounds like a 1990's era one

I remember this album.  Yeah, it does have an underground feel to it.

-Schadaraparr - 5th Wheel 2 the Coach (a classic)

I own this one, too, and I agree.

-T.A.K The Rhyme Head - The Words (Maxi CD) (1996), i've bought this one, a japanese guy who uploaded good old tracks told me that this CD was cool. 5 tracks with good samples, scratch, good vibes. But the japanese guy had his account deleted.

T.A.K. The Rhyme Head is great.

Yeah, we have all these on the blog, but it's still cool to be able to say you own these CDs. smile

I see.  Vinyl's are nice, but I'll wait until I get to Japan before I consider accumulating a collection of Japanese hip-hop 12" in physical form.  The J-studies are most important, after all, and the mp3/m4a/CDs will get the job done until then.

haha Nice.  How does it sound?

For anyone using WinAmp as a media player (maybe I'm the only one lol), there's a really nice plugin that lets your music collection sound like vinyls from back in the day.  It's a pretty interesting experience playing around with CD-rips of old/new hip-hop to give them that vintage feel.  Of course, it's not the exact reproduction of an actual vinyl, but it's pretty darn close from what I've experienced.  I've been messing with it today and find the default settings with the year knob turned to "2000" and the wear turned down to "20%" to be pleasant.  The only drawback I see is you can't save your own preset.

If you like the vinyl sound, then it wouldn't hurt to play around with it.  If you only enjoy the clean digital sound, don't bother to download it as it would be a waste of time.

Does someone know if there is a 12" single of Scha Dara Parr サマージャム'95. I'd like to know if there is an instrumental version of this track.

I'm also looking for Acapellas, i'd like to scratch it on my turntables but i can't find anything

Judging from the site, there's only a mini-CD single and it doesn't have an instrumental track, unfortunately.   I'm also looking for acapellas, but they seem to only be in abundance on the 12" releases.

In other news, I'm still waiting for this group to pop off and release something.  I've been on to them since one of the members in the group rapped over a beat sampled by De La Soul's "I am, I be", which you can hear on the blog jukebox.  Something tells me from the first song on the first video that when they do pop off, they may go mainstream, but let's hope not!

Does anyone know where i can found this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGoOepW3FTU

There is a CD on amazon.co.jp but the "Kenny Dope Remix" is not on it.

ECD - マス対コア (track 5 from this CD i bought on Amazon.co.jp http://www.amazon.co.jp/ECD-MASTER-CCCD … amp;sr=8-1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sBHknIv_Qk (old school beat, scratch, twigy ,you the rock)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnLHolH1 … re=related (Love the moment where the mics are broken ahah)

Good remixes too of Scha Dara Parr, i think all people here know that but it's still good :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KGWvBollm0 (彼方からの手紙 Remixed by PETE ROCK)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68Orm7QkIbc (Trio The Caps DJ Milo Remix)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNPuAofmQ0o (ヒマの過ごし方 Remixed by BUCK WILD)

I think any instrumental of these songs have been released

^^^ Never heard of Geisha Girls before, but they sound a lot like DASSEN 3 to me.  Also, given the name of the group, I wasn't expecting there to be male rappers. lol

As for ECD's マス対コア, I think the beat is okay for the remix, but the rhymes sound much better over the original beat.

Hey i didn't see it. Maybe because there isn't the track list on the web site. But I checked on discogs.com and you're right the 2nd track is the good one. I'll buy it.
Thanks

WOW. Wow.

Matsumoto is coming through loud and clear though, haha. Damn.

Listening to the Amazon preview, this is actually a pretty funky album, too.

@jettyke I respect your love for RnB, but this is not "Japanese Hip-Hop and RnB," this is "Dope Japanese Hip-Hop." Please make a thread of your own if you want to share a different kind of music.

This is the first japanese RnB artist that I've heard of.
I don't have so much knowledge of this style, but I guess you're right.
