My physics is rusty, but...

That only describes the falling of the object. The earth also falls towards the object (mutual gravitation), albeit only a very little bit.

m1 is insignificant for all intents and purposes, but it is still true to say a heavier object will fall faster (in that it is approaching the earth faster due to earth approaching the object), even if it is an unmeasurably small amount. (which was my point)

Also, I wasn't discounting air resistance. I just said it has nothing to do with density.

Could this thread be any MORE off topic? tongue

Try discussing this in Japanese tongue

I just watched the 3rd episode of My Girl with Japanese subs. I'm finding it rather amazing what I can understand with no effort, what I can understand by reading the subs, what meaning I can infer given context, what I still don't understand and what I could understand if I looked up a word or two.

IMO the subs are a godsend! It just makes language learning so much more accessible smile

So far i'm really enjoying My Girl. Is anyone else watching it? I haven't started watching Ohitorisama, JIN or TokyoDOGS yet though.
