So, I've recently discovered that South Park is, by far, the most wonderful way in which I can learn (very) casual Japanese. The DVD sets, though, seem to be quite impossible to find, and if I do, their price + shipping is just *silly*.

So, my question is, does anyone own the set? If so... you wanna do a "loan and share the wealth" sort of deal?

I loooong for South Park. I neeeed it. If I don't have it, my life will never be fulfilled.

Of course, if this sort of post is inappropriate on these forums... please just remove this and kindly forgive me ^-^.

Someone posted a website a while back with Japanese dubbed Southpark episodes.  I love the English version but the Japanese was just annoying to listen to for me.  I am not sure that type of subtle situational humor would be make much sense to Japanese people anyways.

Little bit over generalising there.

And, Southpark is subtle??? neutral

Here's The Simpsons in Japanese if anyone's interested:

ザ・シンポンズ

It's on ニコニコ動画, so you need to sign up first. After that, you can view virtually all of the first 8 seasons for free.

Cheers

Actually, Southpark does an excellent job of mixing overt and subtle humor and political statements.  My favorite eps are the ones that have both throughout the ep.  Seasons 8 and 11 stand out in my mind for this.

The subtle social and political statements are what makes Southpark hilarious.  The obvious toilet humor has never been all that interesting, to me anyways.
