New site appreciation thread

All the threads on this forum seem to be moans and bug reports, so though I'd start one saying I *heart* the new site. Things I'm loving:

- Reviewing is sooooo much quicker. When you press "yes/no" it instantly goes to next card..lovely..
- I can finally see what cards are in my 6th/7th boxes
- The re-study / review failed cards feature is very handy.

Come on peeps, lets show some appreciation

Love the speed of reviews, amazingly fast, really makes you feel like things are going faster. Being able to see the 6th and 7th boxes is awesome, I didn't realise I had so many that high.

The restudy/ failed cards feature is.....different.

Overall love the new site

I uppracheeate() the new site too. I won't be using it, but it brings us a step closer to RTH.

I like it too, except the lay out with all the tabs on the upper side.
The undo button and Add Custom Flashcard Selection I think are big improvements, they seem mighty handy. (Although I'm not completely sure if these are new functions?)

How did I forget the undo button, amazing new feature sorely needed for a long time.

I like the new site a lot. I know there were times in the past where I wish there was an undo (passing a card too quickly, then realizing I actually had part of it wrong) and I'm sure I will use it sometimes in the future, as well as all the other previously mentioned features. I'm going to use the donation feature now, like I said I would as soon as the new site was up. I'm 42 characters away from finishing RTK1 and the site (and everyone contributing stories, of course) has been key to my success.

Love the new site. The ability to add and remove individual cards is spectacular - there have been groups that I've skipped in order to get to more common kanji, and they've been cluttering my failed list for a *long* time.

Was amazed to wake up to all the moans about the update this morning, and am glad here's finally a thread to celebrate! There's a lot of good stuff here I was looking forward to from playing briefly with the beta version, but it's already made a difference for the better. Maybe it's because I don't know what a greasemonkey script is, but what the heck... ;-)

1) The restudy/relearn thing that lots of people seem to be moaning about - and no, fabrice hasn't explained it (we've had to work it out) but having worked it out this has saved me no end of time. I do most of my RTK on my iPhone, walking to the office, which is great for the cards less so for study. As I haven't enough time in a day usually to individually restudy every card, I used to check them as though reviewing them again (catch the silly mistakes where I sort of knew them anyway) and then focus my efforts on the ones that really weren't sticking. I can now do this, with the flashcards, as part of the standard way RTK works and it's fab.

2) Add custom kanji - not to race ahead, but those kanji from RTK 3 that form components of many of the rtk1 kanji (concubine, shire, grab etc) can be added in at the places they would have been had rtk1 and 3 been one course.

3) Losing your session and being able to just reconnect in and carry on.

4) It's faster....

5) I like the blue. I regularly, working in a blue-branded organisation, get sick of blues. I like the new blue.

In short it's ace; and whilst I haven't donated yet, fabrice is def on my Christmas list :-)

I like the way it looks and feels--a lot slicker--and I really like the feature which lets you immediately review cards moved from the failed stack. I'm sure there will be more I discover as I use the site more. Thank you Fabrice.

I like the update. It's good.
I was amazed at how many people are complaining considering this site is free and is out there to help you as opposed to turn a profit.

In any case, great update and thank you for all your hard work and time spent Fabrice.
I certainly appreciate all the work you've done. Without this site it would have taken me much longer to finish RTK, so cheers to you buddy!
