Have I missed something somewhere? I can't find out how to delete my account.

I know I can just stop using it, but I'd rather delete it outright.

Try the strategy I have used on other forums.  Use lots of profanity and insult the moderator.

I can also back the previously stated method.

Well, it's one of the most "calm and polite" forum I've ever seen, it seems to be repulsive to a lot of trolls big_smile

That won't work, at best your account and your IP will be banned.

If you want to "deactivate" your forum account simply edit out any personal information from the profile, and change the email to a fake one or delete it altogether.

I receive such requests once in a while by email (email only please), and you'll have to have a VERY good reason for me to do it. If you have more than a couple posts I also won't delete your account. What is posted is posted. It wouldn't be fair to other users if one could just wipe out all that they have posted publicly on a whim.

You should always use a nickname on a forum and not a real name if that makes you uncomfortable. I am guessing from the occasional requests I get that educated people tend to have more concerns about privacy.

Are these concerns well founded that is the question. I think we're getting a little parnoiac these days wink

Of course there also is the "Show your posts" link on the search page. Just check all your old posts and edit or delete any post you don't want to stay. It is also possible to put the own nickname into the "Author search" box and select "Show results as posts".

Revoking the implicit license to the copyrighted posts should work. You then would be required to remove them immediately. I don't see something in the forum rules that grants you a non-revocable license to the content posted on this website by users of this forum.

Right you're going to sue me because you create an account and want to delete it soon after? I'm talking common sense here. Besides ever since forum creation all users are able to edit their posts at any time or even delete them. There is no time limit to edit one's own posts AFAIK.

@Samiantha: please send me an emial via forum post (click the admin name, or the main site contact page). Also I'll assume you mean both the RevTK main site and forum accounts.

Got a failure notice when replying to your email.

There are 365 flashcards on this account, can you confirm that you want your MAIN SITE account as well as the forum account deleted?

Is it just me, or is this request/thread bizarre. Must be some kind of OCD fixation on the symbolism of the account. I can understand that, I've done it with social networking sites. (I still raise an eyebrow at myself for it, though.)
