Weird handwriting for ”ふ”

I was looking for my notes, and I realized that my handwriting for ふ looks really weird and unnatural.

I've seen it printed a variety of ways, but none of them look quite like what I write.  Every single one of the small outer strokes is hooked at a sharp angle.

You won't see me on these forums much, but this is really bugging me.

Yeah, that's somewhat like what I've been doing.  I had the stroke order (I'm not so lazy as not to learn that! :p), but the hooks are very exaggerated.  I'll probably end up dropping them entirely and going with something like this:

...or maybe one of the loopy ones that xaarg posted.

I'll write out a few lines of just ふふふふふふふふふふふふふふふふふふふふふふふ and see what I can write most neatly/easily.

If you want to know why I want to do something about this so badly that I'm willing to imitate what looks to be a six-year-old's handwriting, this is what my ふ character looks like (copied from some notes I took this morning):

Why are you using such a difficult variant of fu, if your handwriting is bad? Just drop all the hooks. Make sure you see the red triangle in your mind to get the balance right like in this picture I just quickly put together:

And please keep all lines the same width. You are not using a brush.

That's the key right there. The hooks come from lifting the brush. You aren't using a brush, so you don't need to put the hooks in.

I wouldn't go that far. Many kana have hane (the "hooks" we're talking about) in handwritten forms. Many people wouldn't write い or り without the hane on the left stroke.

mine kinda looks like the number 3 with two comma-dots next to it... It's how some of the Japanese people were writing it, so I followed along...
