I am looking at an apartment in this area that is super nice.  My only concern is being I never lived in Osaka that the Yodoyobashi area is one of those old people areas.  After living for a while in Saitama old person area I will never make that mistake again.

Any of you who live/lived in Osaka know about this area?  Thanks.

Yodoyabashi is a business area, there is nothing there. It is pretty close to Shinsaibashi/Namba though.

As Jarvik said, it is a buisness area and I would think that living there would be a bit dull. The only other advanatages are that you may be able to find a job near there and it's not so far from higobashi which has some decent restaurants. Not an old person area at all though.
What kind of area do you want to live in?

Sorry for late reply, I was at work all day.  The apartment is the Yodobashi one on this website.  http://h.prospects-8.com/

The seller is offering it to me starting in January when I move there for 63,000 a month with a 70,000 deposit (half is refundable upon leaving).  On top of that 2,000 per month for water and I pay rest of utilities myself.

Does this look like a good deal?  What appeals to me is that it can be used at a residence or an office (English School) if I ever decide to go the solo teaching route.  Is that office thing special or can you pretty much use any residence as an office legally if you want?

Also, the seller wants me to pay him the first month + deposit and water in advance if I want the apartment.  He gave me his bank information to transfer the funds to (its a japanese MUFG bank).  Is this safe?  What's stopping him from taking the money and running after I deposit it into the bank account?

Thanks again.
