Changing expiration to local time

My suggestion is for you to use the timezone we have set up in our forum profile and expire the cards based on that. I'd like my cards to expire at night so when I wake up, my fresh ones are there waiting for review. My mind is clear in the morning and I can pump through the review before work, then in my free time during the day, do new kanji.

As it stands, I spend a good amount of time on new kanji, then sometime in the afternoon, I get expired cards that I want to take care of right away. Not such a big deal,  and I COULD wait until the next day, but it'd still be a nice personal touch if during OUR night is when the day switched over, and I just hate when there are orange cards so I gotta sit down and do them.

Your script probably uses cron already, so just run it hourly instead of daily and base it on the timezone set in our settings. Now that I think about it, it is probably a fairly minor change if your script is anything like I imagine.

I agree. I think for a lot of members the expiration comes at an awkward time. Expiration on timezone wouldn't be that hard to program for you as I see all the awesome stuff you made up until now. Keep up the good work!

I'm still interested in this idea.

Me too!  That'd be a nice feature, thanks.

BTW, the timezone calculation seems to be out-by-one at the moment...

I third this suggestion!  My cards expire at 3:10pm right when I'm about to head home from work.  So I have to sit at work all day doing new cards or just puttering around on the internet because I go crazy and review them all as soon as I get home.  If I could do the reviews at work it'd give me some of my evening back.

(Yes, I know, the simple solution is just to ignore the reviews till the next day, but then it's been over 36 hours since I added them so it kind of throws me off kilter)
