What type of image are the flashcards on Kanjikoohii

What type of image are the kanji cards displayed in? Im trying to use it from my phone but the cards dont display.

It sounds like you need Japanese fonts for your cell phone.  Someone here might be able to help you (I probably can't), but would need to know what kind of phone it is.

I probably do need that too but the kanji cards themselves are images aren't they?

Nope, they're text. Try selecting one sometime. I think at one point in time there were websites you could use as proxies that turned kanji into images for those systems lacking the fonts. I don't know if any are still around though, or if they'd work with the javascript and such going on with the review pages.
