Not including dictionaries, or search engines or anything like that. Something that you go to for pleasure. I was going to say use the most, but I know some blogs that I like that are rarely updated.
1. http://chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/ (People ask questions, and other people answer..)
2. http://www.lifehacker.jp/ (Random tech news, nice writing style)
3. http://kotonoha.cc (People pose yes and no questions, other people answer. Most of the answers are funny or cute. Good for beginners)

Nice nac_est. I'm a fan of nicovideo, but atm I don't have enough bandwidth to use it *kicks Australia in the nads*.
1000 character stories is sweet.
I'm going to add one more: http://ja.uncyclopedia.info/wiki/ӣ … 0;ジ Probably the funniest stuff I have found so far in Japanese. It's quite hard though.
Otakus are 99% professional bums or acting as guards for their residence (read: shut-ins). Those that do an honest days work are exceedingly rare. The proof of this is that Otakus that are appear on television are virtually always unemployed. (I more or less get the last sentence, but not quite enough to translate it
)

wikipedia entry to naraccisim = it was interseting to read because it fit applemilk1988 really well so I feel even more bad for her. and her dirt is on raspberrysyrup.livejournal.com ... obviously don't learn japanese frmo her.
Wow. I hope this is not true about her. I watched a few of her videos and thought they were a little bizarre, but she does have a large number of adoring fans. Smart.fm even has her as kind of a spokesperson for their site on YouTube.
Wow, anti-emily blog. Don't know who's right or wrong, but people can say what they want, she did her 'kanji reviewing' and is that much closer to fluency (if she's not already). props to her on that.
Some nice websites here:
Easy reading for all kinds of levels, let's face it, we need to go back to school again. Categories ranging from biology, history, to maths and science etc.

Like evey culture, Japan has its fair share of monsters, ghouls and ghosts. A simple fun site about a variety of scary creatures. (with pictures! ohhh)
http://obakemono.com/introduction.php
A site for Japanese people to learn English can also be used to learn Japanese instead!
Lot's of reading material but this time with Japanese translation!

Uh she's not fluent. I just need to emphasize that.she's not close either.
people wrote about it in the livejournal in depth... something about basic mistakes and how she doesn't learnfrom it,etc.I don't know where it was in that livejournal. but as far as that goes it's somewhere in the livejournal. do not learn japanese from her, period.
Topic is going off to her... for that stuff I think most of the answers can be find in the raspberrysyrup livejournal!@`
Bwahaha, I remember a year or two ago when all of this started going down. Her ex-boyfriend (whom she allegedly ditched in Japan) really went all out and revealed a slew of information. Not long after, her Youtube account was hacked, background replaced by goatse, and a few days later terminated (until she was able to restore it a week or two later). I don't wish ill on anyone, but sometimes, those with egos the size of the Mt. Fuji seriously need to be knocked down a peg (or 50) for their own good. I think her batshit fans are even more annoying, if that's even scientifically possible.
Anyway, back on topic. Three Japanese websites I enjoy:
Heaven (VERY NOT safe for work)
An interesting assortment of cultural news and tidbits, often covering the more bizarre, amusing and shocking facets of life. Can quite often be pretty disturbing; even I don't have the stomach for some of their articles. Brace yourself, ye who dare enter!
TBS Radio 文化系トークラジオ Life (safe)
My favorite podcast, basically a group of 20-somethings who discuss current events, popular culture and so forth. Intelligent, fun and interesting (and great listening practice!).
ファミ通 (safe)
An ubiquitous name for most people who play video games, and a very informative website. Covers a wide variety of gaming news.
