Hi,
do you have any experience with OCR Software which recognize Kanji?

I have a good book scanner, but the OCR delivered with this unit is real crap.

I have texts with and wihout Furigana, so it would be fine to know how the SW handles Furigana.

It must be compatible to a non-japanese windows XP.

I use this. I don't think it's bad, but have little experience with these things.

ReadIris has an Asian edition that I use with my flatbed. It's okay. It runs about $200. The downside is dealing with IRIS, which isn't the most organized company out there.

SmartOCR is very good.

Personally, I use ReadIRIS Asian Edition.
