Failure comment box

How about when you do reviews, if you fail a kanji you get a little comment box at the bottom so you can make notes about what you did wrong when you wrote the character.

That way you know what to correct when you study.

Right now, I could keep track by hand, but later on when I have a lot more to do, I think it would be very useful.

I also found it helped a lot if I knew why I had failed a kanji.

One way is to just write the correct version next to the incorrect one and circle them. That creates a quick record of mistakes that you can refer to when you go through your fail pile (which ideally hasn't grown too large). I think describing a mistake in words might be harder and take more time.
