I've been thinking of turning non Kanji related things into Primitives for things other than Kanji, for example, giving numbers primitive meanings in order to remember dates or something like that... thoughts?

Interesting.... that could certainly work.

9 = your brother
1 = sword

My brother was playing with two swords so we had to call 911 wink

There is actually a mnemonic system called "the major system" that is used for remembering numbers.

From Wikipedia:

The Major System (also called the phonetic number system or phonetic mnemonic system) is a mnemonic technique used to aid in memorizing numbers. It works by converting numbers first into consonant sounds, then into words by adding vowels. The words can then be remembered more easily than the numbers, especially when using other mnemonic rules which call for the words to be visual and emotive.

You can even create an array of "mental lockers" numbered sequentially, and assign a mental image for each "locker" based on its assigned number. Then, when you have to remember something, just put in into a "mental locker" and create a link between the thing you want to remember and the image associated with its "locker".

Major system sucks. The best mnemonics out there are in Dominic O'Brien's book.

That system seems very effective but jesus what a huge timesink to make up 100 characters with actions... Seems like, if I have that much time, why waste it on making a mnemonic to save time, you know?
