There is an Amazon contextual selection on the topic lists, bottom left... It actually shows RTK Volume 1 on the RTK category index, but the selection of products is very static. I added this a couple months ago. It's called "Omakase Links". There is a very tiny click through there, so maybe it has potential. I personally like Amazon and I like the display, but it'd have to be more prominent on the page. I have to work on an Amazon Store as well with the materials most recommended here..

Both the main site and the forum weren't designed with advertising in mind. There's a lot of work there. That's why I dont actively look for advertisers, I have to remake the whole layout to add unobstrusive advertising space. I appreciate the concerns but when I threw my rant on the AJATT thread I didn't mean to put responsibility on the community. I'm the self sabotaging artist here.

Let's leave this thread to rest. If you have a million dollar idea you can email me though big_smile

Sorry for not leaving this thread to rest, but if there's something we can do to help you, you deserve it!

I don't have much money nor do I have a Paypal account or something similar to make donations to the site, so all I can do now is trying to think of ideas to get at least some money from the site.

Couldn't it be possible to have an option in your profile to show ads even when you're signed in? Some people could be interested in checking some ads anyway once in a while, so there's no reason not to let them do it, and get a bit of retribution at the same time.

Also, at least in my case I see a lot of vertical space in this site wasted. Approximately 30% of my screen shows only the background and no content. I don't know if this is the same for everyone, but if it is, that space could be used for placing some ads, including Amazon links for products that anyway lots of people seem to be buying.

Another thing is that the "Support" link doesn't get the visibility it deserves. Actually, I didn't even realize there was a "Support" button at all until you mentioned it on a post time ago. It doesn't appear in the forum page, and in the main page it isn't prominently displayed, but let aside without attracting much attention.

I think you could display a special page with a "Support" option at the review portion of the site each time someone reaches some milestones, for example each time someone reviews the last kanji of both RTK 1 and 3, or when you add the first kanji that goes beyond the free demo of the book (if people have the money to buy the original book and use this site, probably they'll be interested in donating), or when you add kanji number 1000, when you take all your kanji to the last stack, when you reach 10000 repetitions, etc.
