Hi i am looking for radio stations which stream japanese music.

At the moment i am listening to a French station: japan-mod.fr (http://94.23.16.162:8000). This one is quite convinient because they don't have moderation and the titles are broadcasted. I have found this station through shoutcast.

Does somebody know Stations which work with Streamripper?

Personally, I use Songbird with the SHOUTcast plugin. While I can't find any normal Japanese stations, there's quite a few anime based stations which play openings and endings to anime... in general, anime uses modern JPop and JRock so it's better than nothing and very easy to use.

I've also been looking for japanese radio stations. There are quite a few at http://www.multilingualbooks.com/online … anese.html . Not sure if they work in Streamripper as I don't use it.

@Tobberoth: The japan-mod.fr is also a anime-based station. But I hoped that there might be japanese stations which aren't restricted to anime themes.

@vaerer: I looked through a few stations from the list. The mumix radio looks interesting, though i had some connection problems.

You could try the suggestions in this thread. Me, I use KeyHoleTV to listen to FM Yokohama and JOCR AM558 Alternative (there are other stations on there too but the sound quality seems to be worse; those seem to have a mix  of music and speech). Streamripper won't work but there must be generic 'rip this audio' programs out there.

I use http://www.last.fm

Mostly I use the last.fm app on my iphone, but it works via desktop as well.  You can create and tune your own custom stations similar to Pandora, but it seems to be much better at staying focused on Japanese music.  There are some preset genres including j-rock, j-pop, j-ska, etc.

Honestly, I still have a real hard time finding Japanese music that I like.  What I need are some artist names.  Any suggestions?

I think "One Ok Rock" have some good songs. Their first single "keep it real" is great.
