Where did the smilies go?

I've been seeing text instead of smilies recently, even though I have my preferences set to see graphics. I wouldn't mind if I just got the old-fashioned emoticons instead of the yellow icons, but now I see the words "smile" or "tongue" in other people's posts, which is rather distracting while reading. (And "thanks japanese nerds tongue" just looks... odd.) Is it just me?

People who use the words "Smile and tongue" are annoying to me too.  I always report them. smile

Try Profile > Display > "Show smilies as graphic icons"
