I am looking for suitable books to help me with writing reports in Japanese. Does anyone have any experience with the following books? Or, can someone recommend any other suitable texts?

1. Academic Writing for International Students
2. 大学生と留学生のための論文ワークブック 中上級
3. 留学生のための論理的な文章の書き方

Thank you

Some time ago, Jarvik posted a few links to linguistic related Japanese academic papers. A bit of forum necromancy and you'll find them.

This isn't about academic writing in particular, but it has some useful information about text organization and written language style in general that might interest you. There are also short samples of different written genres for self-study.

"Principles of Japanese Discourse: A Handbook" by Senko K Maynard

Here's the Google Books Table of Contents where you can read many excerpts.

Edit: Amazon Japan has some detailed reviews of your second book, the 論文ワークブック.
