Hi!
This application looks extremely useful to me!
But unfortunately I can't download it because China's Big Wall is blocking mediafire..
Could u please mirror it on an other one-click-hoster like Rapidshare?

appreciate!

Hello,

I have just released version 11 of subs2srs.

Download subs2srs v11 on Mediafire
Download subs2srs v11 on RapidShare
Download subs2srs v11 on FileFactory

New Features:

Major:

1) Video Clip Generation: subs2srs can now produce video clips for each line of dialog for use with Anki.

Minor:

2) You can now enter a bitrate to use for audio clips.

3) Updated the "documentation" with a step-by-step howto guide. Also added an Anki template deck that already contains all of the fields needed by subs2srs.

4) subs2srs can now auto-detect frame rate (used for snapshot calculations). However, you can still force a frame rate.

4) Added new validation code that makes it easier to determine where a mistake was made (red icons will appear next to any invalid field).

5) Cleaned up the interface a little, shuffled some things around, added more labels, tooltips, etc.

6) Minor bug fixes.

Can Anki play video files? That would kick ass!

I just played around a little with s2srs and I would still like to see an option to "fine tune" the timing of the audio for individual snapshots. I would not mind to put some extra time into creating a movie-deck. Here is a quick drawing of what I have in mind.

EDIT: There might still be a bug in the software: I ripped a Chinese dubbed version of Naruto and found some subs. There seems to be a problem with the snapshot-capturing. The first 4 snapshots are different (and seem to be spot on timing-wise) however all 350 snapshots after that are the same.

aegisub is still (in my opinion) the best tool to time/delete lines of dialog.

Hello,

Here is a sample Anki deck showcasing video clips. It is based on the first episode of the anime Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu. It contains a snapshot and a video clip for each line of dialog (298 lines total). The snapshots are 1/4 scale and the video is 1/3 scale at a 700 kb/s bitrate. I padded the start and end times of the video clips (but maybe too much). I also started to delete some trivial/simple lines, but then decided to just leave them in.

Download the Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu sample video Anki deck (70MB).

Admittedly, using the video clip feature for an anime probably isn't as beneficial as using it for live action material because most of the scenes will be static, save for some mouth flaps.

Hello,

I have just released version 11.1 of subs2srs.

Download subs2srs v11.1 on Mediafire
Download subs2srs v11.1 on RapidShare
Download subs2srs v11.1 on FileFactory

Just a small update. The frame rate is now auto-detected before processing begins. This way if the auto-detect has failed, you can force a frame rate without losing any time.

Are there tools used by the "Timers" of (fan)-subbing folks which let you instantly crosscheck the timing of the subs (of a particular line) vs the timing of the audio-stream?

Aegisub will allow you to play the audio that corresponds to the sub - for eg if the sub is to be displayed from 0:00:00 to 0:01:00 aegisub can play that portion of the audio.

when i bought Final Fantasy Advent Children w/ the final fantasy XIII demo i noticed it had exact subs... it would be nice to see someone make a deck of it... as a matter of fact the japanese script is on the internet: http://rokoran.com/ff7hokankeikaku/ff7a … iginal.htm

also, i wonder if anybody thought about making snapshots of RPG games and then placing the pictures in Anki... you wouldn't even have to input anything really (unless you wanted to input a English translation)

Unfortunately not a chance.  The technologies used (Avisynth) are only available on the Windows platform.

Hmm, .srt files still seem to work for me. What behavior does the software exhibit when you attempt to use .srt files?

Folder with Vid and SRT. Click go. Red exclamation point. Incorrect subtitle format in directory.

As currently designed, you must put the video file(s) in one directory and the .srt file(s) in another directory.

LOL. I just read that in the help file. Eyes kept skipping over that part for some reason.

Edit:

Now freezes when I try to make images. I have avisynth. The command opens and shows avs2avi but doesn't go any further. I've let it run for a bit thinking maybe I just had to be patient but nothing has happened. I can make audio and video just fine though.

Total time now exceeding time to extract video and audio combined. Guess I'll just use the videos for now...Anki does support video right?
