Uhm, how about a new forum section?

Journals
Share your learning path, track your progress. This is a good way to stay motivated.

(something like that...)

Similar to this:  http://training.fitness.com/journal/   (but for Japanese!)

I'm not even sure I'd use it myself (lol) but ehh, just a thought...

What do you guys think?   smile

A lot of the members here already have blogs. And twitter!

Yeah, but it's not the same. Obviously.

I think you didn't get my idea. Compare with the link above...

I understood your idea completely -- I was just pointing out reasons why people might not be too keen on adopting it. It would be unnecessary work to update /twice/

Yeah, I see that. I just thought it would be nice to have this section, especially for newbies. You could follow individual learning paths and tweak your own and stuff. Other users could weigh in and make suggestions, etc. Anyway, it was just an idea. I can live without of course!   wink

I think this is an awesome idea. I kept my journal all the times.
Check my website for further information.

A Twitter and Facebook profile for RevTK would be really nice....

it's funny to see that some users already do this:

http://forum.koohii.com/viewtopic.php?id=2502

and

http://forum.koohii.com/viewtopic.php?id=1508

others start their own blogs (which will probably never be read as much as the threads in this forum) - content that could be here and "gets lost" spread randomly all over the internet.

think about it...

p.s. not to be a whinger but a reaction/decision from the site owner would have been nice.   wink

People who have a blog or Twitter will talk about a lot more than RtK, it will be about progress in Japanese study overall, what methods they use, textbooks, things they've tried, people they've met, trips to Japan,... that's a much broader topic than RtK.

This forum is not very well suited for that because the "personal" threads would bump up regularly on the recent discussions, which may annoy some, as has been already the case before.

I'm not seeing a big need for that here, people share their experiences and all things interesting related to Japanese learning that they come accross, even non-learning topics in the Community forum.

That said keep in mind you can link your blog or feed or profile from a social site, in your PunBB profile options, and it shows below your username in all your posts.

Someday I'd like to add more profile options on the main RevTK site though.
