This looks cool.  I like the futuristic look that it has, the screen shots from the square website are incredible.  @Hashira; please post your review of the demo after you get it, thanks.

Dang... Yeah I just read that it won't be released until 2010.. Well, it gives me time to master the Chrono Trigger script.

if you are going through the Chrono script, i recommend starting here: http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Retranslation.html

go down to the "HTML chapters" section and check it out...

Been waiting for this to become available for pre-order, I`ll have to go grab myself a copy! smile

stehr, the game will be out in 2010 for most of the world, but if you`re playing the Japanese version, then it`ll be out this year. (as soon as August, apparently!big_smile)

yeh, it's only for PS3 in Japan... it's coming to both PS3 and Xbox 360 in america... Japan/America have the same Blu-ray region code this time so it will play on both... you may want to check if it will play on the UK model though, i'm not sure if it will or not...

Awesome.  Now instead of going out, seeing the sights, and socializing, I'm going to have to spend my winter break at Osaka inside playing vidja games.  Thanks, Square-Enix.

It will if your TV can handle NTSC output.  I've heard this is becoming more and more common these days.

This isn't an issue if you're plugged into an HDtv via component or HDMI. 720p and 1080p/i are worldwide standards.

By the way, I have a UK PS3 and constantly download demos from the Japanese PSN store. I've not found a single one that doesn't work on my hardware.

All ps3 games and most bluerays are region free (so Japanese  games will play on your PS3). I however was thinking about buying the bluray (Advent Children complete), but found out that the actual movie isn't region free. Which is really strange since everything else is... The weird thing with bluray regions is, is that the US and Japan are in the same region, so if you have a US PS3 you can play the bluray, but the UK is in a different region...

And the even weirder thing is that with DVDs, UK and Japan are the same region but the US isn't...

Who decides this stuff?

The only download I couldn't get to work on my PS3 was the Japanese demo of Uncharted. It will start up, but the screen just stays black. (I was disappointed that the UK version of the game itself didn't have the Japanese dub, especially since it lists the Japanese cast in the credits.)

I wish they would have done away with regions completely, or at least stuck to DVD ones. I have a BluRay (from a DVD boxset) that I can't do anything with tongue

Where do you hear that? I got ACC (plain, non-FFXIII demo version) as a gift, and it works perfectly on my UK PS3.

Mmh.. maybe I was wrong? I can't remember exactly where I heard it... This is listed as region A though.

Will this game be region free as well?

yes, there was arguments over it having japanese dubs with english subs which SE decided against... so if you get the English version its only going to have English voice/text while the Japanese is only going to have Japanese voice/text... the could fit both versions on one Blu-ray disc but they couldn't on an Xbox 360 disc so they decided against it (dammit)

Yeah, it's kinda funny... only one day after SE swore that the 360 version wasn't going to compromise the PS3 one, they admitted that in fact, due to the 360 version not being capable of holding dual audio tracks (which is kind of funny considering how many language tracks Lost Odyssey on 360 had...), they were going to be "fair" and have English tracks only on both localized versions. Ohoho, what would I do without your silly bullshit, Square Enix?
