First let me say Hi!...I'm brand new here and just started RTK1. Reading through the intro to the book, Heisig says we should not review the kanji we have studied too soon because that will prevent our long term memory from kicking in and internalizing the kanji. So how can I incorporate using flashcards into the system?
Hope I made sense here...

If you invest a little bit of time and money, you can make your own flashcard out of cardstock from your computer. Download the PDF file at www.polarcloud.com , print them out, then cut them out. It takes a little bit if time but well worth it. You can review without a computer, anytime, anywhere, on the bus, taxi, lunch break, getting your oil changed, etc.
As far as what Heisig recommends, you will be reviewing a lot anyway. Unless you have a super brain, you will use these alot.
Hope this helps.
