Attn all Firefox users: do NOT upgrade to Firefox 3.0.4 when auto-prompted it has serious bugs which is causing users mayhem. Further information is at:
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Sup … ite+Forums
My browser session keeps crashing after auto-installing to FF 3.0.4 yesterday which means I have to use IE for RTK reviews; if they don't put out a patch immediately I'll probably go to Chrome...but I love the Add-ons so won't abandon FF just yet.
PS. This is not a standard 'remove the firewall' resolve, they seem to have released a security update without proper cycle testing.
Moderator: apologies if this is off the RTK radar but I know a lot users here use FF and would be adversely impacted.

Word about says that the latest Visa security patch has been causing Exception Access errors and/or Data Execution Protection (DEP) triggers on FF 3.0.4 with Vista 64bit.
Other common problems (but not just on Vista - I'm getting these on Windows XP) are lockups from YouTube or MP3 downloads, non-accessible Yahoo/Gmail/Hotmail accounts, some apps (like MySpace) not working, and crashes on restart from sleep mode. In my case it's probably an add-on compatibility issue with FF 3.0.4.
Also, some known add-ons are triggering DEP warnings (eg BitDefender 2009 AntiPhishing Toolbar 2.0).
If you run into trouble, re-install FF 3.0.3, FF 3.01 Beta (though this is buggy) or earlier and this should clear any problems.
Steps are above or go to:

I haven't seen a word-up from Mozilla yet but there are a lot of comments buzzing on their forums.

I'm using a 64 bit Vista, and made the mistake of updating to 3.04 ... -_-'
It went absolutely frozen... but fortunately I use the portable version and had the previous version still at reach, so installing the 3.03 portable version and copying the data files to that new folder solved the problem. It seems that I lost some configuration details about some ad-ons, but nothing important that I can see now.
Anyway, thanks for the warning. At least now I now what happened. -_-'
Update: I also lost all my search plugin's keywords and had to copy manually my prefs.js to rescue my custom keywords.
Last update (I hope): After having installed 3.03 over my 3.04 portable Firefox, I tried using the safe mode (firefoxportable -safe-mode) a couple times and it seems that solved the original problem. Now I can use again Firefox as always.
