Just wanted to vent about how long and how much a pain in the arse Lesson 23 is!

I was quite enjoying doing RTK and then along comes L23 and fists me in the eye! Thanks Heisig!

There should be a congratulatory thread for people who have survived the L23 mission!

Anyway, just finished L24 and I'm feeling much better about the whole RTK affair again. For those yet to finish it, good luck - it will finish soon! smile

I did this chapter in 1 day because I hated doing less than 1 chapter/day. It's definitely the worst one though..

Lesson 23 somehow reminds me of Shadow of the Colossus.

That lesson was the first time I felt "Man, this isn't very fun." and it slowly started to become a dread to open the book. Good thing it feels amazing to be done with it.

That seems about right. The first third of the book you do on just pure fun. The second third feels like hard work. And the last one is a test of will.

The whole thing was a test of will. It didn't get fun to me until I got to the last quarter. I stopped using simple objects for primitives and turned them into characters around that time. Things got pretty interesting.

I'm currently on ch.23. Since I don't do a chapter-per-whatever, it's just more pages of kanji for me, taken a few a day. But yeah, man it's unnecessarily long.
