KO2001 Versus KIC

I was just wondering if anyone owns both books and could make some comparisons/observations?

Specifically-I have seen some people mention that they would move on to KIC after KO, but I have a feeling that there isnt much in KIC not covered by the two KO books?

I only own the KO books, and have only skimed the KIC book in the bookstore, but my general impression was that the KO books were newer, contained more, and were much cheaper ( so I brushed KIC off-If its a good resouce, I am willing to get it).

I would also welcome a discussion with anyone who has gone thru KIC completely, as I have recently finished book one of KO.

I don't own kanji in context, but here is my basic understanding of the differences:

Kanji odyssey gives you about 3 sentences each for about the 1000 most common kanji, along with english translations.

Kanki in context gives you 1 sentence without a translation, for all the joyou kanji EXCEPT the first 200 or so.

If you've done KO it probably isn't very productive to do KIC. There is a second book in KIC which contains less common kanji and words -- maybe people meant they would move on to that book?

Anyway, if you already have all KO books, just continue with KO and then start hitting some real Japanese material with all that vocab you've gained.

Yeah-I would pretty much agree with what everyone said from what I have seen.

I think you could get more from a book like READ REAL JAPANESE, then KIC after KO1 and 2....
