Hi! I've just started to put in my Heisig cards into Anki and as I was filling in all the blanks I thought it would be a good idea to "tag" what grade level the kanji is learned as well. (That way I can boast that I know as many kanji as a first grader! Just kidding! : ) Anyway, I've been trying to find a list of the jōyō kanji by grade level, but I just can't seem to find one. Does anyone know where I could find said list?

I didn't know the kanji for Go, but I knew 竜, not to mention its variant form 龍, which doesn't appear until RTK3. But I imagine a lot of people here learn those early 'cause they're so darn cool. :3
Am I the only one who finds it weird that 龍 and not 竜 appears in the kanji 襲? I think it has to do with 襲 appearing in the Toyo kanji list (the list that was used from 1946 to 1981, which was when the Joyo list was adopted), where neither 龍 nor 竜 appeared, and then when they created the Joyo list, they decided to simplify 龍 into 竜 before adding it... while leaving it unsimplified in 襲 because it was apparently already a Toyo kanji. Yeah, go ahead and only simplify the less complicated character... that makes sense.
