Please, share your impressions of animes that are airing this year, 2008.

I'm enjoying a series called "Mnemosyne". It is certainly different of anyother I saw.
What I like the most is that the main character is at the same time innocent and misterious.

I haven't watched a new anime in a while.  I've been hooked on dorama, just finished Zettai Kareshi.

I think the last anime I watched may have been Mushishi.. Which was wonderful might I add.

I guess it's still airing cuz Wikipedia says "original run:  2002-04-19-ongoing"?  The anime I'm watching lately is あたしんち.  It's a comedy sitcom about a family of four.  It could just be because my Japanese has recently really exploded, but it seems like this anime is exceptionally good for language learning.  The characters are entirely chibi, so the focus is on dialog rather than pantyshots.  The variety of topics they discuss is really amazing.

On the other hand, if I tried to watch this without subs say, six months ago, I think I'd be totally lost.

Hey Cerulean, where in Ohio are you?  We could go get smashed sometime.  There's even a Japanese-themed club here in Columbus.

My kids and I enjoy Chi's Sweet Home (http://a.scarywater.net/yoroshiku). It's clean and VERY funny seeing all the trouble that little kitty gets into. I've been looking for other kid-friendly modern anime besides anything Miyazaki, but haven't had much luck yet. Input solicited.

I just discovered Dennou Coil, but it was made last year. I'm at a loss on what's good this year. Doramas are more my thing.

For me the best anime of this year is True Tears. The best romance anime I 've seen in months, and every detail is cared very much.

True Tears is excellent.

I also love からのきょうかい (I would type it in kanji, but I'm not using my own computer) and ぞくさよならぜつぼうせんせい. Other than that, it has been a somewhat weak anime year so far, in my opinion.

Edit: 空の境界、俗さよなら絶望先生
