So I recently accidentally deleted all of my cards a few days ago because, you know, I'm an idiot. I had a lot of my cards in anki already because I'd been using that a teeny bit before (and bit during) I came here, so I wrote it off as a loss and have already already swapped back over to that. But, since I wasn't actually using that program all the cards are way off of where they should be. Due to the nature of an SRS program it will all work itself out in the end, but 'in the end' could be a couple months, so... just to make sure, I don't suppose there's a nice big 'reset' button anywhere on this site, eh? Particularly one that reverts to days previously?

Yeah, I didn't think so.

How many cards did you have? I switched to here from SuperMemo when I had 1827 cards and I'm dealing with it OK, so it can't be that bad. smile

Around 1700. I'd call it pretty bad no matter what, but I would still put them all back in.. except that I already had enough that switching to anki seemed like less of a waste of time.

Ah, yeah, that is a rather large number. I'd still prefer using this site over Anki, though.

If they are in anki, just review from the beginning again, but use the highest interval each time for a few reviews.  You'll get back up to your number in no time.

The Anki FAQ also suggests this:

Anki FAQ wrote:

If you're starting from scratch, you probably want to space the material out over a period of time, and make the initial intervals longer. Currently the best way to do this is to select "Edit -> Deck properties", choose the "Scheduling" section, and change the minimum and maximum interval for "easy" cards. For example, if you choose "min 60 max 120", any cards you answer '(4) remembered easily' for, will be scheduled for a random time between 60 and 120 days in the future. You can then go through your material hitting '4' for any previously known cards. Make sure to change the interval back after you've finished, so that any new material isn't scheduled too far into the future!

Wait, which was deleted? If it was anki, you should have MANY back up files in My Documents .anki folder. If it was on here, just add them again and all your info should still be present (I think).

I know about the anki bit as I had to recover data when my thumbdrive was stolen. I just used the most recent back-up file.

I'm pretty sure QuackingShoe is saying that he(?) was using Anki, switched to this site, got his cards at this site deleted, then switched back to Anki using his old cards, but the intervals on his old cards are now wrong (since he hadn't been drilling them in Anki).

Can you be clearer? What is the feedback or what is the question?

Do you want your cards back on this site?

I do keep backups, of course. Not everyday as I would like, but several times a month. I should be able to restore most of your flashcards unless you added them in all at once in the last few days.

You should email me for such requests, because I need to verify your account.
